Blown Main Fuse HELP Please
Vacation, 14 days, last stop Paris. I used a truck/RV park garage. When I retrieved truck after 4 days, dead battery. No lights left on, Engel fridge definite "off" position.

No jump start attempted. No knowledge of "lock-unlock" or other immobilizer or key proceedures on my part at this time

The attendant helped me push start, drove back to hotel, loaded up wife and kids whilst car running, figured if it ran a while it would recharge battery.

Paris to Stuttgart: Stopped for fuel, as we slowed to a crawl I shut off engine and attempted to restart with key, nothing. Popped clutch and fired up. Fueled up while running and moved on.

Outside Metz, seemed AC was not blowing very cold..50km later 3 Amigos pop up. Turn off AC and they went away...20km later they are back along with limp mode and all guages go flatline. Truck on shoulder of road for 4km and we found an exit from motorway. Truck idles for a bit, then dies. Turn key, nothing.

Flatbed comes, attempts a jump, nothin. Company hauls to German Dealer, who tell me "main fuse" is blown. I believe this means the main fuse link. Do not know specific one, car is 2.5 hours away! They replace, and have started and shut down car, driven around, and all is "güt" as they say here.

So, did the garage in Paris somehow trip immobilizer? Led to no start? Would car run with push start in this condition?
Why limp mode?

Let us hope this is not natural habitat...

I imagine fuse link blew on jump start attempt? Would the car have even run with blown main fuse link? 2013 110 - Keswick Green

This helps, from what I read the glow plugs would continue to be powered with only battery power if main fuse blown.

Brown green and orange continue to have 12VDC.

So could run with push start.

Trying to figure why alternator did not keep charge to battery... 2013 110 - Keswick Green

ECU prob saw error and somehow alt did not charge battery. Hence cascading failure...AC, then # amigos, then check engine, then no gauge function, then dead. 2013 110 - Keswick Green

It seems more and more like the garage guys tried to jump, could not locate battery, and somehow shorted to ground and popped that big ass fuse. 2013 110 - Keswick Green

This helps.

Again, can see where truck MAYBE would run (push start) depending on what else is happening with ECU. 2013 110 - Keswick Green

Diesels will run without battery as they are not sparked ignition. Everything else you will lose. Not sure how the ecu figures into the overall scheme of things but basically as long as a diesel engine receives fuel it does not need any electrics to keep it going. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Alternator might be dead so not charging hence flat battery and the jump start probably popped the fuse. Ray

If they have mechanically controlled injection and fuel pumps, however the 2.2 has an electric lift pump and electronically controlled injection so I don't think it would run with no battery?
