Best place/way to sell our 'old' family car (Qashqai)
Hi all,

We bought a Discovery 3 a couple of months back and now need to start thinking about selling what it replaced. It's an '63 plate Qashqai 360 with only 19600 miles on the clock.

What's best? eBay? Autotrader? Something else?

Cheers in advance TD5 Defender 90

Would you believe there's a forum for Nissans. You could have a look at their site as your car is below average mileage so may appeal to a Nissan nerd.

I'll give that a go. No doubt i'll fall foul of a post limit so will have to be sociable first.

I used autotrader to off load the defender. 38 quid and gone within 24 hours at asking price. Admittedly a defender is currently a very desirable vehicle but I was suitably impressed. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Wowsers.

I went with autotrader in the end. The add went live at 08:55. I got a call at 9:15, met the guy at 11 and money in the bank at 1130.

Money well spent. I had some trepidation, having sold a couple of cars on there a good few years ago. Lots of trade calls, lots of tyre kickers and time wasters I even had people calling me weeks after the add was finished.

They 'mask' your contact details giving a temporary (and local) virtual number, so nobody actually gets your phone number or email address. Over all, a positive and successful experience.

That's good to hear.

I used them a few years ago and didn't sell a thing. Got lots of agencies ringing to say they had buyers ready and all I had to do was pay them some money to get the details. Terrible experience back then.

Might try them again if/when it's time to move the 90 on...😳

Cheers

Simon
