You had to send the radio off though? Or can you perform the update with a laptop? Cheers, David

Posted the radio off on Monday circa Ł4.00 postage, Installed back in the Defender, via UPS delivery on Friday.

Yes, for the UK version you have to send the radio off. Elsewhere, you can download and do the update yourself. No idea what the difference is, but the notion of doing a firmware update over bluetooth makes me glad I was able to just post! You could try a non-UK update (AUS is available), but you may end up with an ugly paperweight. |

I followed the advice and posted the unit off to Carl at Alpine.
The unit was returned via UPS with the latest firmware 1.63.30 I think. Tested it over the last few days and all the functions now seem to work correctly with my Galaxy S7. Well worth the postage to Alpine. Excellent service from Carl. |
