cooking puma style

and I'm not talking big cats spit roast.

this could perhaps go under the general topic heading I supose but since I've got a puma engine....

how's had a go at cooking (well heating up) a cornish pasty on their engine?

I'm off on my travels tomorrow (only milton keynes) and I've just spotted some cornish pasties in the fridge. If I get stuck somewhere a nice hot cornish pasty would be rather nice.

how best to heat up tho. where how, long, engine on, engine off (but hot obviously) and how long should I set my timer - medium to well done preferably.

what you need to do is get a hessian sack, and tie it over the end of the exhaust pipe with the pasty in the sack, rev the engine for 5-10 hours this will super heat your pasty, and take out before it burns

Have been heating pasties and sausage rolls on engines for years now. Just wrap it in foil and find anywhere on top of the engine that will hold it secure and just leave it on until hungry.... obviously only works for pre-cooked food

I used to do it with my tractor when i was bored of eating cold food. Tin foil is the key and no leaks anywhere near where you put the food or it tastes a bit nasty!

Used to find anything up to 45 mins on the manifold for a scotch egg was good but that was on a 8 litre engine working flat out so may take a little longer on a landy in the winter.

Corn on the cob works well wrapped in tin foil, used to grab a bit from the game cover strips and cook it on the manifold with the tin foil from my sandwiches. Also a bit of rabbit or pigeon works well if ive been out with my gun.

Not tried it with road kill yet but im sure the day will come! lol

....... you could just use the heater on full heat by your left leg for a while .. its able to cook my leg well enough !! ..

AndrewS - pasty holder......is this another extra the jolo has or are you refering to the infamous drinks holder ontop of the engine?

Thats not a drinks holder,I put a pair of my wifes knickers here for wiping the dip stick.

I used to do it at work "on site" whilst maintaining locomotives, turn up at 09:00 put it in the V of the engine (3020 HP 2 stroke diesel) remove it at 12:00 piping hot.
Simples!
