Apologies, a wheel and tyre question (again)
Firstly Hi, secondly apologies for asking a repitive question. I have searched the forum but can't find the exact answer and don't want to make an expensive error!

I have a 90 pickup and I am wanting to change the wheels and tyres. I would like to fill the wheel arches as much as possible without rubbing and a definitely do not want to add a lift kit. So I have decided on ZU Alloys and BG MT in 285/75 R16, I know from a search on this forum that that tyre size will work without rubbing so all good there.

My question therefore is around the ZU's, if I go for the 7 16's with 11mm offset will this fill out th arches or do I go for the next size up which i think is the 8's but has a completely different offset, will this be a step to far and will over fill the arch?

I have done so many searches and looked at so many pictures and tyre sizes I am confusing myself and need some clarity, thanks in advance.

Your better off with the 8J rims with that size tyre.....i'm not sure on the offset of the ZUs but someone will come along soon and tell you what you want to here...I think Ken is your man on this one Thumbs Up NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

Thanks.

You are right about the rims size, just spoken to the fitter and they will not fit onto 7's they must be 8.

Therefore that narrows my question to, will 8 16 ZU's fit in a standard Defender with that tyre size without fouling? Anyone got that fitment without the lift kit?

Zu's take 285's fine plenty on here do this

Zu's if you believe the myths are 7.5J

No such thing as a Defender 8J Zu but Mach 5 do one

Be very suprised if your average tyre fitter knows the difference

285 on Zu's fill the arches really well

Rolling with laughter Mach 5 15" X 10" with a 40mm offset with 32.5 x 11.5 x 15 Coopers fill your arches to such an extent you can rip the front wing off of a Citroen without so much as a scratch on your truck! I have 285 75r16 BFG KM2 Mt on 8" mods , and they will foul on extreme articulation on 110 with HD springs (not lifted) other than by increased ride height when not loaded . (standard shock lengths)
