Steering Box Issues 200tdi Defender 90
I am having an issue with a replacement power steering box.
I purchased a power steering box from someone that had been using the donor vehicle to replace my box.

Fitted the box
Drag link arm disconnected The box lines up pointing slightly to the drivers side of the vehicle which I believe to be right.
I can put a bolt up the locator to lock it off.

Now the problematic part...

When I try to centralise the box (without drag link arm on) I do the following:

Count number of turns from one way to the other (almost 4)
Lock steering to the left and turn it back 2 turns.
Check drop arm position and its exactly half a turn out and needs an extra half a turn.
This means the steering one way has 2 1/2 turns and the other way just over 1

Any ideas?
