As promised, photos, can't really take the gaiter off without causing a head ache trying to put it back on. But you can sort of see the bends necessary to avoid vital parts.

Here's another couple of photos of another motor that was on eBay a while ago that were helpful. Again you can sort of see the angles necessary, although the dash has been cut on this one, I didn't need to do that as it wasn't necessary.

That looks sound Buck, do you think I will have to use a loom from a puma or will I be able to
use the original td5 loom that was in it. Thanks |

Keep your td5 loom, it being a 2006, as long as the wires for the switches are long enough, you shouldn't need to do any wiring, apart from the heater controls and illumination, which may need extending, but as I said before, depends on how you are going about that. If you want the puma clock to work you may have to extend the wiring from the td5 clock as I doubt that would reach. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything else, but that may be all.

I just don't like the Puma dash.
I have a TD5 but could have bought a tdci, l think the Puma dash is too chunky, sticks out too far, and makes it feel cramped in the front without the feeling of space you get in a TD5. I have no issues with the function/ergonomics of a TD5. After all, if l wanted a modern car l'd buy a Discovery. Just my opinion! But you did ask. |

I like the puma dash a lot, like Stacey007 said, much more ergonomic and bring the vehicle up to date. Not knocking the td5 dash at all, love that dash too, had one fitted before the puma dash, it's just, for me, the puma dash is little better in terms of heating, extra switches, and more room for a double din head unit. Do agree it makes it seem a little more cramped, and couldn't live with it in a pickup, but I've got the space to go back in my 110 so isn't that cramped

Fair enough, it wouldn't do for us all to be the same!
I wish l did like the Puma Defender. After all, it's much easier to get a nice one than a TD5, the youngest of which is now 11 years old. If my 110 needs replacing for any reason it'll probably have to be a tdci. |
