fuel guage showing full perminantly

Whilst green laning last night we had to stop nose 1st on a 35% incline to safely get a disco 2 down a step. When we got to the bottom both myself and the td5 disco reported our tanks had gone from 3/4 to full.
Nowt strange their from being pointed downhill except mine never reads off the top full even when filled to the brim.
Long story short the disco 2 got wet and the xyz switch started playing up so we parked it and came back for it.
After 200 miles (about another 100 green laning/bumping banging, even dropping on to the tow bar) and a nearly empty tank I'm still showing off the top full. I've stuck a tenner in this morning in the hope it might do something and as I must be on fumes. But no joy. 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)
