110XS Roof OFF for colour change?
The possibility of having the roof of my Montalcino Red 110XS SW sprayed Santorini Black MAY have arisen and I am in need some advice!

They (an approved bodyshop) have said that if they were to do it wit the roof still on, there would be a 1/4 inch line under the guttering which would still be red as they wouldn't be able to get closer enough to the joining line ???

The other options I've been given is that they remove the roof completely and I pay to have the foam compression seal replaced and for the additional labour times.

Question 1: How long does it take to completely detach the roof from the body, including strip out of interior?
Question 2: How much is a replacement foam compression seal?
Question 3: Is it a mistake having the roof removed? Am I just inviting more problems in the future?

At the moment the roof *touch wood* is completely leak free!

I removed the roof on mine and it wasn't too bad a job. It's made much easier with two people, if you're trying to do it by yourself you end up with a massive great wibbly wobbly thing. I used my roof rack to support it and lifted it off with a telehandler but two people doing it by hand would be a much better option.

When I had mine done they said words to the effect that removing the roof was entirely optional, the costs were the same either way (but cheaper if I removed the roof) and they could do a better job if the roof was removed.

I didn't replace the seal, and I don't think it leaks.
