Britpart suspension parts of genuine?
Whats the quality of Brit part suspension parts, springs, shocks etc? Should I go for these or items such as Gaz or even stick with genuine Land Rover parts?

My personal take is genuine Thumbs Up
However this is probably going to cost so have you considered genuine take off parts (google it) as you can get a real good deal. For instance I got 4 genuine defender shocks (delivery miles only) for £50 as lots of people change from genuine to aftermarket Shocked
Worth a try!
good luck

Fit genuine shocks - they do work
All shocks wear after time.

I'm sure everyone has their own opinion and I'm sure some Britpart parts are OK. However personally if it steers , brakes or suspends the vehicle I would go for OEM or a premium brand part. I have purchased 3 items that turned out to be Britpart and all three were returned to the supplier having been substandard. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

How can I check if I have "standard" shocks and springs fitted at the mo?

As I said I'm looking to replace the springs and shocks but want to retain the overall stance it has. I'm guessing by the history of the vehicle they are all standard but it would be nice to double check.

Still debating where to get the bits from. New, OEM, Google.......

I fitted a set of cheap £12 each britpart shocks to get me out of a muddle as it was all my local indie had after I damaged one. I've still got all 4 on nearly 12 months later and working fine 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)
2009 - current .... 2005 zx10r

How can I check if I have original height springs? I like the way it looks now (well one side!) and don't really want to change that.

I see Paddocks sell standard (cheap) springs and was interested to see there was a choice of passenger and drivers side. With the yellow Britpart springs from them they just come as a pair. Would these also be "handed"? Mike

Hi, Britpart are a bit of a mixed bag. Their cheap parts are poor and best avoided but their OEM range with a G after the part number are normally ok. I've had a few G parts for the Defender and the Disco and they have all been made by the same manufacturer as the Land Rover parts.
