Brendan, great to see that finally a LED version of this original equipment look center brake light is being developed, but I have the same question as I asked Peter in the other thread. Will the glass (or plastic lens) of the final version be properly E-marked? I don't see that in the pictures.
Thought to ask you specifically, you are after all the guru of the E-marking and IP rating (latter not appliable in this case). Thanks, Eric You never actually own a Defender. Yes they are E marked and road legal
No they are not waterproof to IP69K. Even I think that is a bit excessive for a high level internal light. No IP rating. We ship goods to many far flung places from the UK such as Falkland, New Zealand, Singapore etc. When they are in stock we would require full delivery address zip/ post code and we will then work out carriage costs. A point to note here is that a third brake light is not an 'obligatory light' and does not have to be e-marked, so effectively you are getting an added bonus. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

When will these become really available, i.e. what does "shortly" mean in this case?

My Puma didn't come with a high level brake light, will this unit fit onto the door without any mods? --

Asking what Naks is inquiring about as well as it just occurred to me...
Seeing factory installed 3rd brake lights, there seems to be something on the glass, a cut out of sorts contoured to the light. I also noticed that the de-fogger strips work around this cut out. I don't have the cutout but do have a de-fogger. Last edited by HardCharger on 16th Jul 2016 5:43am. Edited 1 time in total |

Hey Brendan
Sounds fantastic. Black lens would look awesome. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

For the factory high level brake lights there is a defined area for the lamp, an extension of the ground connection and a new 12V connection, plus two studs bonded to the screen:

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about.
Hmm... This being the case, if I've never had one, does this mean that I will not be able to use this kit? |
