^

I know it may sound daft but even just doing the drivers door, then part of the boot (without the 6mm foam) it already sounded better.

I wish I did a decibel reading before / after. Maybe its in your head?? well actually no as the drivers door now thuds rather than rattles when you shut it... so It is better Smile

Not driven it yet now the boot done and the 6mm foam as only did this in the afternoon will do tomorrow for commute, I will report back Very Happy

Hello

Drove to work today, its not a huge wow difference as if I have suddenly converted it to a normal car, I never expected that. Its better though and thinking what I have done its probably only 25% of the car so far.

Its only the two front doors and rear boot floor with arches I've done.

What I notice more than anything is the way the doors shut with a thud, noticed even more by the back one now sounding like a tin can, so will have to do that soon.

The difference in sound inside so far is slight but better and if I carry on I guess only get better Smile

Started moving forward a little, well over the rear arch behind middle seat on drivers side, Added the silent foam and also 6mm soft cell.

I've covered more of the car at the side than the current carpet covers however with the black soft cell on top its not as obvious when the carpet is missing however I may buy some extra carpet and spray glue to hide it completely.

Sides covered,

Then the soft cell on top

I can see why to have this done could cost £1300 upwards on a 110 as there its very labor intensive. However I'm enjoying it and spending and hour or so in the evenings is quite therapeutic...

Hello

Was going to but googling it and looking at the job you can get to everywhere with out. Taking them out seems to just add to the job and I need the car as a daily transport.

This bit which even when you take the seats out is the only bit I haven't covered (the yellow box area), I've literally got silent coat and soft cell but up against this seat mount.

It makes the job a little harder maybe? more cuts and move the seats back and forth but peel back the carpet remove the foot well carpet and you can get to everything. You might have to squeeze your hand into some tight corners but using the roller to squash the silent coat down it works well.

I actually enjoyed (sad maybe) cleaning the floor prior to fitting and its like new before I add the silent coat.

Been a bit too busy lately to do much but had a spare couple of hours today.

Cleaning up the bolts and underneath.

Took the bolts out and fitted the stainless rear sill also.

Covered more parts than I have carpet for but I also have 6mm closed cell to go on top and then will get some extra carpet to cover also. So the bits of silver will be hidden (the face of the silentcoat)

All back together

Also did the fuse box under drivers seat and the lid for it, including part of the area round the pedals and the gear stick, Carpet was a pain to remove around this area Smile

Looks good. I have now done under middle row and put 6mm foam under seat box lids.

Made a big difference.
Next will be rear tub but will have to wait until back from body warranty work for roof seal replacement.

I have all the stuff I need to complete everything. It will just take a while 😕

This is the box under the drivers seat as I started covering the sides and base as much as I could,

The bottom of the kid I put silentcoat (the big sheet on the left)

I may well put some soft cell on top as that's 6mm, I guess these box's do boom the sound out.

Under the passenger mats will be 6mm soft cell also I just need to cut it.

It has to help I guess Smile

Gardening got the better of me today but still managed half an hour or so to start the passenger side seat box.

Took the tools out, cleaned them, cleaned the box, (will take battery out another day)

so a bit more done, managed to squeeze some at the side of the battery but will have to take it out to do a proper job.
