The first winter back in a small cloudy island near the North Pole after 25 years away .... most used has been torches and plug in lights. It seems to be dark all the time. ...and boiled sweets for traffic jams.
Then screwdrivers, pliers and 3 in 1 oil, - for various friends and family who assume if you have a Land Rover you can fix their outside tap / light fitting / door hinge ... Least used, incl on Salisbury plain, has been wheel changing gear. But it may happen and they are heavy. I just bought an extension bar and socket - plus I have bottle jack and LR supplied screw jack. Practise at home. At least 3 times. With the various torches and lights. ....  Sold the much modified 110 2.8, in Oz
Brought the 90 home from Switzerland ... |

Headtorch! With decent batteries in it. The lithium AA's are ideal.
Removing a prop is as simple as removing 8 nuts, so may as well chuck a 9/16" ring spanner in. Decent bar for the wheels, jack that actually works. Make sure none of your wheel nuts have swollen because they have stupid stainless caps on them! (Half of mine need an 1"1/8 socket to remove, 27mm doesn't fit!!) |

Right - I managed to pick up some spanners and a nice screwdriver set (with a multi-angle head, 45 & 90 degree) from Screwfix. Got some cable ties and a roll of gaffer in there too. Plus a tow rope and litre of oil and I reckon that's good for now.

So far (and I realise how massively I'm tempting fate here
 ) my beast has been absolutely rock-steady for temperature, even at 70mph on the motorway for 4 hours...
I might see how much space I have left under the front seats and squeeze some in. |
