Your ISP has nothing to do with any potential website.
My mum uses a online Microsoft thing that started out free and now she pays a little bit for, she gets on fine with it. I've used WordPress before - it was originally supposed to be a blogging platform but it's really easy to use for websites. You can either register a domain (that's the blah.com bit) then point it towards WordPress or register through WordPress.Com and pay them to streamline the whole thing with a domain and hosting etc. You don't need any programming knowledge, it's quick and easy and just works. There are more complicated ways of doing things which can bring cost savings or more interesting features, but if you want a website from nothing in an afternoon then simmering like WordPress will do that for you. |

The youth football club I am in involved with uses Go Daddy and it is easy to set up and maintain pages , we even have a small shop section built in for kit.
Pretty basic but cheap. www.winchesteryouthfc.com HR064 Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response |

We are currently with WIX but hugely disappointed to find they are not compatible with 'Worldpay' who we want to move to to handle our credit card payments

I have used godaddy for domain and email for many years.
As mentioned above they also have tools for setting up your own website. |

I'd recommend you buy your domain name separately so You own it, then go to a hosting company of your choice
That way you, will pay £20 for 10 years for your domain name, and have the freedom to move your hosting without nasty surprises |

i use lcn for domain names, good price and easy interface.
i then use hostgator and run a worpress.com site with a theme. its the cheapest easiest way, but there is a bit of a learning curve with it! My 109 thread my youtube channel |

I'd second bpman's comment and say buy the domain yourself. I've registered a couple through 123reg and another through LCN. Not had any problems with either of them.

I use 1&1 myself, no issues in 12 years.
As suggested buy the domain. Don't forget to actually use the email options - I see loads of work vans and adverts where the company has gone to the trouble of having a dedicated domain but then still lists their email address as 'bobsbuilders@btinternet.com' Email redirects are usually free, even actual mailboxes are free with a lot of providers, so no excuse. |

So much choice out there for this stuff it can be very confusing. For domain purchase namecheap.com are the best value I can see in the UK. I host my mail accounts with Rackspace and pay very little, perhaps cheaper out there, but they have good support and a phone number you can speak to an actual human on anytime of day. Sounds like you just want a very simple 'portfolio' type site with what you do and your contact details on it, ie you barely need any actual functionality behind the site. Wordpress will be all you need, pick a template, follow the design guidance, upload some imagery, buy a simple logo from one of various other internet sites, and your done

My Mrs does this kind of work, she has done a few sites for small firms. If you are interested or want to know a bit more just message me. I'm sure she will be happy to advise. 2011 110 USW
