Whatever the maximum sentence is for this driving offence I hope he gets the maximum and gets placed in a cell with some big hairy guy who has him as his bitch, he deserves no less. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I get to see too many instances of bad driving in my job, but that has to take the biscuit. An undertake followed by hard right across the front of the merc and he was turning into a garden centre?
The red mist had descended and he was focused on the Mazda, he had no peripheral vision which happens in a heighten state of anger or anxiety. And he's robbed those kids of a lot. Luckily they are still alive. If justice prevails he will go to prison. New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info |

First things first. What an absolute shame for the two girls, I couldn't begin to imagine how I'd cope if I were the father of those girls. Very sad indeed.
Re the sentence I don't see his driving to be any worse than what I've seen time and again on the police programmes on the TV and they tend to get slapped with a £150 fine and if they don't have a license then they'll probably get a 12 month ban too? So if his driving was no worse should he get anything more than a £150 fine? |

^ Agree
I watch too many of those programs, no insurance no licence and they get a 12 month ban??? and a few hundred quid fine? Bothered? they don't have and never will have insurance so what does the ban mean? Don't know why I watch them really it wines me up. |

So this guy probably set off with no intention of doing wrong. Possibly some cretin pulled some stupid manouvre which made him see red.... I'm not condoning what he did but I'm not sure why he should be penalised more than someone who sets out breaking the laws leaves a trail of destruction but happens to get away without killing or injuring two young girls?
How do you decide on the right punishment, one that's reasonable compared to the jokers you see on the police programmes and one that is suitable for the damage done which let's be honest is priceless? |

That is truly awful driving, obviously wilful too.
Probably too much pressure on him with the job, rushing and tearing to boot and just drove like a madman to get somewhere in an "emergency". He didn't even turn right as such just swerved off the road at high speed and the HGV meant there was no view at all. In my view these sort of awful things often happen due to people being pushed beyond their limits. The moral of the story is, if your highly stressed or in a mood. (We all know when we are) Stay away from behind the wheel, calm down have a break if no other choice. If there was no dash cam he'd probably got away with it. |

Such a sad story for all involved.
I'm sure the last thing he ever intended to do that day was nearly kill 2 girls, but I'm sorry you have to be responsible for your actions its total about rushing to what ever, no excuse at all, never has been never will If you drive like an idiot eventually your luck will run out & some innocent person may pay the price. 2020 P300 HSE |

Just to put this into context with some of the comments
The driver that caused the crash believed he had been cut up at a previous roundabout, he never admitted this in court, other drivers stated they believe this was the primary incident. He then chased the Mazda in front which tried to get away from him by overtaking another car and putting distance between the two of them. The driver then tail gated the car in front, forcing them to pull over so he could get behind the Mazda again. Finally he undertook a car waiting to turn right and swerved across two lanes and hit the oncoming car - in the event he crippled two girls from the waist down for life. From the internal report I have seen, this was not a red mist but a sustained period of driving against a minor incident at a roundabout. I personally hope they throw the bloody book at him and lock him in a cell with Big Brenda, who needs a new Mummy |
