Hi
probably 20 years ago my brother, sister in law and myself drove from Essex to Maastricht and back in a day towing a box trailer. We took the first and last Dover crossing. All this in a 90 200tdi csw. I think this was over 700 miles and sitting most of the time in the back I still have not recovered! |

On the 15th of July I'll leave Somerset drive to Dover , cross on the ferry and then drive through Belgium,
Germany, Austria and into Italy. In total 1100 miles in just over 24hrs with a bike rack 4 bikes and a trailer tent. 2 adults or maybe 3 and 2 children . In a 55 plate td5 90 I once did from Nantes (France) to Portugal (Algarve) via Madrid with the wife 7 months pregnant in less then 24hrs. Fabio |

1200 kms driving my 110 from Halifax to Ottawa where I picked it up at the autoport when I imported it to Canada from Germany. That was the first day. Took two days but the first day was long and I was still quite comfortable. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

We just returned from the UK, yesterday. A 3000 Kilometer, 9 day round trip (granted, in a TD4). Stuttgart, Reims, Folkestone, Burgess Hill, Maidstone, Culworth, Buckden, Bromsgrove, Cheltenham, Bournemouth, Winchester (the only unplanned stop, turbo hose blew), Farnham, Burgess Hill, Egerton.
Left Egerton, Kent at 9am, and arrived in Stuttgart at 9.45pm. 820 Kilometers, in just under 12 hours, including the tunnel, and a couple of fuel stop. We were towing a 2.5 ton trailer, so cruised at 105-110 Kmh, 2100-2200 rpm. I wonīt even look at how much fuel we used, but it was a wonderful trip, and we would jump right back in and do it all over again. Cruise control and Recaros are a blessing. These days, we enjoy such journeys more in the Defender than anything else. You see more of the countryside along the way, and feel like you are actually going somewhere. 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MTīs, Recaro CSīs, anorak, wellingtons |
