Road trip HD
I have been using the road trip HD app since I bought my Land Rover back in 2013. I have been struggling for the last couple of months with performance and have come to the conclusion it must be the MAF sensor but I wasnt sure.

I have just been on a long trip and expected my mpg to rise. When I entered my latest fuel fill up figures I was disappointed to see it was low. I looked at the graph in the app and noticed low mpg back in 2013 and low mpg recently.

I checked the date of the rise in mpg against my logged expenditure and it coincided with me fitting a new MAF sensor. So basically logging all this data it has helped me diagnose the problem and forking out £80 on a new sensor feels like less of a gamble now.

So really just wondered if anyone else uses this app and has it helped them in a similar way?

Not used the app but my maf has just gone too Rolling Eyes I just unplugged it to see if my power came back. It's in for a full service and new turbo on Thursday so it might be a bit faster when I pick it up too Mr. Green Ray

When I saw 23 mpg I figured the app must be faulty?

....and it is.... none the symbols I picked on (click image to enlarge) worked either. Time for a new app.

Oh and to really upset you.... I get 30+ mpg so on 87k miles I reckon i've saved about £1k on fuel Mr. Green

Back to your question I do think (your app or otherwise) . Very useful to keep an eye on mpg a a form of diagnostics Thumbs Up

Is that seriously your average fuel consumption?
I'm averaging 32 over a mixed run and have got over 34.

Afraid so. Being a 110 makes a difference I guess. The roof rack and roll hoop won't help. And my 2 and a half mile commute really stick the boot in. Oh, and lots of hills! 2002 110 td5

I like the idea of this app. I currently have a spreadsheet with everything on, but this looks prettier and the mpg figures would be nice to know.

However, not sure I can face totalling up everything I've spent... ouch. Can you password protect the app? Can you disguise it? What if the wife accidentally clicks it open? Can we get it to display porn or something, that would be better than knowing how much I lay out on this stoopid car!

Roof rack makes a big difference. Took mine off at the same time as losing 5psi out all the tyres for some comfort, and then spent a tank doing 70-75 down the motorway rather than my usual 65-70, and still improved from 24-28mpg

Can see where I've been towing or green laning etc. quite easily on the chart.

So worth paying for the full version with 'expenditure' and export facilities?
