Strangely I was looking at property (to buy) near Warrington earlier. I'm not a fan of Warrington itself, but would rather (I don't have to be in Warrington every day, or even 0900-1700 so it's not a daily commute) stay a bit further out where I can have a better quality of life...
2 places are very attractive so far... Arnside/Grange at the bottom of the Lake district, just off J36 of the M6, and North Wales...about 45 miles West of Warrington... Prestatyn or even Rhyl areas on the coast. I like to be active in the evenings - mountain biking, walking/climbing or even sea kayaking... so personally would trade a longer commute for better weekend/evening fun. If I had to do 0900 - 1730 every day in the office every day I may think differently!!! My Dad has a holiday permanent caravan near Kendal... that's around a 60 mile commute (each way) to Warrington...so a lot for a daily round trip... Depends if you want to live on you own or in a shared place. There are usually lots of options on Spareroom.com.

Hadn't thought of a caravan will look into it cheers!
I'm a country lad and like you spend my weekends mountain biking etc as I'm a stones throw from some of the best riding in Shropshire... sadly I'll have to be there 8-4/5 daily so I need to be within cycling distance ideally (don't want to use the 110 for commuting if I can avoid it! Hadn't heard of spareroom.com so I'll check it out cheers |

Lots of defenders in the Frodsham / Helsby / Tarvin / Tarporley area.
Biking in Delemere Forrest is available Cycling every day may limit your radius depending upon your fitness etc. Warrington has a wide range of suburbs some nice some not so nice. Do you have a sponsoring employer for your apprenticeship? 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper |

^ A caravan in one of the Cheshire sites would be my idea...
As above if you don't know Warrington there's good the bad and the ugly (probably like any town to be fair) Lady Heys caravan site is not for from Frodsham, and literally 5 mins on your bike your in Delamere. Your also close to Frodsham train station. In the lanes some great routes, lovely part of the world Staying a weekly rate could work out more expensive than having it their for a year, when I was looking at keep a van on site (in York) It was in the range of £1400 to £2000 a year, so if you have family / friend could also be good. You cannot stay in it all year they do close, but it a long season http://www.ladyheyespark.com/index.php not all sites let you keep them there but worth looking, |

Think I'd need to find a friendly farmer as i'll be up there year round so a caravan site won't work I do have a sponsoring employer, I've asked if they know of anywhere or anyone in a similar situation
