England 2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Santorini Black
Not a good day.
Well, my day did not go well.

Left home this morning for a meeting at Wembley Stadium. I thought I would take the 10 month old Defender as I had not used it for a week.

All was well until I passed junction 2 on the M40. I suddenly had a loss of power, limp mode appeared to have cut in but no warning lights the defender slowed to 50, then I noticed the temperature gauge rise to red and then start lowering back to centre.

So pulled on to hard shoulder (luckily the M40 still has them!)

Checked under bonnet and could see coolant on bulkhead, engine cover and expansion tank. I could not see any damaged or loose hoses on my cursory look.

Called Land Rover Assist, "yes sir on motorway, we will have you recovered in 45 mins" An hour and 20 later AA arrive.

While I was waiting a chap pulled up in a white 110 camper conversion to see of I needed assistance, I said thanks but help was on its way. I doubt that would have happened if I was in a different marque.

Get home and LRA are booked to come to my home. I have to leave for my appointment so tell son to get them to call me.

He calls, I tell him what happened. Car is then recovered to my chosen dealer.

When I get home, the technicians report only says what I told him, it did not appear that he had done anything.

JLR CS call to arrange a courtesy vehicle ( why not, might as well put a few miles on their car) they have reserved one at The dealers)

Go to Dealers no one appears to have any knowledge of my arriving for the vehicle. Although I can see the 90 parked out front.

Eventually they locate the file. Courtesy car is found, I then have to explain to the service advisor what had happened to the 90. He replies has anyone mentioned a cracked head!!!.

Now have to wait for diagnosis.............. Cheers Simon

Feel for you mate, at least you got a courtesy.
My local one wouldn't even give me one whilst dealing with a bereavement at the same time.
So needless to say I never went back.
If your under warranty which it seems you are, don't let them get away with a thorough repair.

Sorry to hear hopefully an easy fix?

If that were me on the motorway though would have got much further off nearer the grass...

The Lorry's sway into that lane all too much

On reflection Stacey007 I agree.

At the time, I was more concerned about the faulty 90. Cheers Simon
