2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Epsom Green
Clutch
Hello all.

I have a 2008 90 with 18K on the clock. It's currently got the famous clutch rattle which has steadily being getting worse over the last year or so, it's now at the point where it rattles briefly when I'm driving along and I lift and go onto the overrun and when I start accelerate. It also does it continually if you get the load just right (or wrong if you know what I mean).

Im about to get it booked in to my local garage to get it changed and hopefully cure the problem once and for all. I just have a few questions as to what else I should get done when I've got it opened up.

Should I also get the release bearing / slave cylinder changed?

The spigot bearing?

I've read about people having problems with the gearbox output shaft splines should I be worried about this at this mileage?

Are there makes of clutch / pressure plate to be avoided / preferred? As I normally supply my own parts when getting work done.

Thanks for your help. Michael

Def get the release bearing and slave changed.. The spigot shouldn't need changing, just a dose of grease..
While you are at it, get the gearbox extension shaft and splined socket checked between the GB and TB.. Might as well get any dry splines lubed before it wears away.. ... ,-------,
