Absolutely loved the 911. After a working lifetime of vans, estates and 4x4's/dcpu's I bought it when I retired a couple of years ago. I've always been a petrolhead and always believed there were only two types of cars, 1, Ferraris and 2, everything else. When, finally, I could afford a (2nd hand) Ferrari, I bought a 911 instead. Head over heart.
However.....having turned 60 in March I decided to go back to something a bit more practical, cheaper to run and, most importantly, easier to get out of 😉 Loving the 110, it's only done 20k mls and it's only previous owner seems to have spent quite a few bob on bits. I'd be interested to know whether the wheels were sourced in the UK, they're made by Rader and I've never seen any similar before. Looking forward to a camping trip to the Highlands in it before the winter sets in and maybe Italy next year for the Mille Miglia. ✌🏻️ Cheers, dt |

Welcome to the forum!
The wheels look very much like the genuine land rover 'Dual Finish' alloys: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-VPLDW0001YCM But it seems that Rader make a very similar version: http://projexuk.com/wheels/landrover_rader/mali/silver |

Welcome!
I had a 993 Targa for 10 years. Loved it! just didn't use it that much. I too now drive a Defender and It gets used pretty much every day. Agreed on driver reaction, chalk and cheese! Any farther South and I'll need to trade the Defender in for a Landing Craft |

Thank you for the welcomes.
I received a cautionary letter from the local Chief Inspector, Rural Crime this morning regarding the increase in the theft of Defenders. Does everyone get these letters? How did he know I'd bought one? More to the point, do his regular customers also know I've bought one and am I on their to-do list |

Good choice and welcome to the family.
Do spend a little time searching this forum for suggestions on security. Sadly, it does seem as though Defenders are high on the "wanted list". I should know as my previous one was stolen off the drive in the middle of the night. At that point in time I was oblivious to how easy they were to steal. A few simple extra security measures with a layered approach should help to ward off or slow down the low life who seem to think it is OK to help themselves to other's property. Don't let this put you off Defender ownership though. I'm guessing PC Plod has access to the data at Swansea and will be able to establish who on his patch owns or has recently purchased a Defender. I've never received a letter but perhaps it is a local initiative rather than national. |
