Td5 Anti-roll bars on 110 CSW - advice please
Hi all. 18 months into 110 ownership and loving it!

My 110 CSW has no anti-roll bars but think it needs something as quite a bit of roll when I drive. The connections are all present so just need to source parts etc.

Do i need to fit both front and rear anti-roll bars and if not which is better? What do they do to the handling? I read somewhere that front and rear bars have different effects on handling. No idea if this is true.

Any advice gratefully received before i splash the cash. I have seen plenty of new take offs etc so should prove too expensive to do. Cheers Mark

It's generally considered that the rear one has more effect than the front. I'm not sure exactly what the reason is for this. All the uprated ones are for the rear, not the front. That said, LR felt in necessary to fit one front and back, so there must be a reason for that. Perhaps fit a standard one at the back first and then if it's still rolling in the corners, add the front too. I know there are some people who just run an uprated ARB on the rear, so that would be another option. Standard take-offs a cheaper option though. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

I fitted one to the rear on my 110 DCPU specifically to reduce body roll when I had my rack and roof tent on. Did the job perfectly and I didn't feel the need to put one on the front.

I've got the anti roll bar and fittings for sale if you're interested. 2015 90 XS CSW TDCi - Beautiful

I fitted front and rear ones to mine and it made a great difference to body roll. For the cost of take off ones I'd fit both to avoid any more sea sickness Rolling with laughter Ray

thanks for replies. I'm going to fit rear one first i think and see how it feels before fitting the front. either way should feel tighter drive.

Don't just fit one anti roll bar, there's a chance it will make the handling unpredictable.

Britpart do a full kit for around £200 with front/rear anti roll bars and all the fixings.

I fitted the kit to my 2005 110 CSW and it made a big improvement to the on-road handling.

The kit is easy to fit and you don't even need to jack up the vehicle, although it's easier if you can drive it on to some ramps.

Most small hatchbacks only have the front, a common handling mod is to add a Rear.

THe rough effect is that a front ARB will reduce roll at the front but increase the tendency to understeer.

Adding a Rear ARB will flatten the rear in a bend. This should reduce the tendency to understeer. Too stiff a RARB will cause the car to tend towards oversteer.
