Hi Tony, what I think you need to do is drop a vertical line from the outer edge of the wheel flare arch down onto the tyre.
If the tread of the tyre is within the vertical line then you are OK. The sidewall of the tyre can be outside the vertical. If the tread is outside the vertical line as far as I am aware it will not be a MOT failure but contravene the C & U regulations. In that case you might want to consider wider wheel arch flares. Also ot might well be worthwhile considering wider mud flap brackets to decrease the about of dirt going up the sides of your vehicle. Brendan |
