England 1995 Defender 110 300 Tdi HT Portofino Red
strange knob dial thing on 300tdi dash?
strange knob dial thingy on dash not sure what its for, it is above fuse box area on dash it says diesel and has what looks like an orange kind of plastic what looks like a bulb may be behind I think it will rotate,, has something in german wrote on?? Confused

Heizung is German for heating, so I'd say either a fuel or air heater of some kind?

Google says "heizung" is German for heating.

So is it for the glow plugs or a diesel powered block/cabin heater like a webesto?

ahh I see, cant see no heating unit behind seats so maybe a relic of a former installation, thanks for your input lads, Very Happy

they used those on vehicles that ran heaters to heat a secondary fuel source - veg oil Cheers

im beginning to think you are right mate, im going to trace the wires from the switch and the clear hose sticking through the floor behind seats, I would never have thought of that,, cheers. Very Happy
