Rumor suggests Ford might use JLR's 3 litre V6 engine
Under the hood of the 2018 F-150.

But why would JLR want to give a competitor a class leading engine?

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Ford has sold 38 million F-150's and JLR would like a slice of this market. Don't forget that in the world of motor manufacture JLR is a mere minnow compared to the likes of Ford, GM, Toyota and Nissan.

I don't see any JLR product as a direct competitor to the F-150, unless of course JLR fancy entering the pick up market??? Defender 90XS SW

I thought the 3 ltr V6 was a PSA engine and not JLR ?

Sloppy journalism again possible?!?

I am pretty sure the 3.0 V6 engine is a PSA/Ford joint development and LR only got their hands on it when they were owned by Ford.

It's a Ford/PSA engine that JLR also use.

Not really that exciting that Ford are using a Ford engine in a Ford pickup, but good for Dagenham I guess.
