Major coolant leak
Righ, so I came out of the gym the other day to find a huge patch of fluid under the car. I got home and had a quick look under, it's coming from the passenger side of the engine but I can't quite see where. It's dripping down onto the PS pump then onto the axle/radius arm.

It's quite a major leak so I'm guessing a seal or gasket has pretty much completely let go. The only issue is, I can't see anywhere it could be coming from! There's just too much in the way to get a good look from underneath.

Is there any common coolant leak paths on the 2.4 puma engines? Anywhere I can investigate a bit further before I start to strip the damn thing down?

Thanks

Same as mine was, get underneat and have a look from underneath with a light.
Wear eye protection in case a stray drip comes down.

I have the torque for the bolts if required but you will need to drain and bleed the system to remove it as well as remove the Acc drive belt and brake vac pump

What was it on yours that was leaking?

I thought it was power steering fluid on mine at first but the heaters stopped working within a couple of miles so it's definitely coolant, I just can't see where it's coming from

If it's losing it that quickly I would say it may be a pipe thats your problem? There are a few on the n/s of engine. The egr has a couple of pipes to/from it. Just a thought.

Same problem few month again.
Check the hoses. One of mine rubbed against a chassis support and finally made a hole.

I'll get under it tomorrow and have a proper look, where abouts is the egr located? Or will it be quite obvious. I'm not so familiar with these engines, yet!

Thanks

Mine lost a load of coolant when the red engine lift bracket at the back of the engine wore thru the hose..
The bracket is meant to be taken off by the dealer at the pre delivery check..
Worth having a quick lookie lookie to see if it's still in place.. Then the dealer can pay for the fix! ... ,-------,
