Price depends on condition - chassis, bulkhead, paint, mechanics etc.
I usually pay circa £3k for something like that that is solid. |

Have a look at the values here.
https://www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk/classiccarvalue# Think that you may be unpleasantly surprised by all S2a values nowadays, unless it’s very much a project. |

I’m not expecting to pick one up for £1,000
The Hagerty prices are all over the place - I just looked at the value of two cars I know well and two I have a fair understanding of and all four were way off the pace (both way too high or way too low). Those guides cause more trouble than they are worth imho. Like Glasses, etc, they are used by the trade to hammer you when buying or selling and insurance companies to stick it to you when you have a total loss. They always find a guide that supports their figure I’m expecting to pay up to circa £6 - 7,500 for a good, honest, unrestored but solid example and based on a few PMs I’ve had, that would seem realistic. |

There is a 1961 S2 in the series2club classifieds right now for £6,500 that looks a decent example: http://www.series2club.co.uk/forum/forum/index.php?topic=93799.0 |
