United Kingdom 2003 Defender 110 Td5 G4 LE Zambezi Silver
Diamond in the rough
Saw this on Gumtree. At first glance, it's friggin' hideous, however, it would appear to be an Ex MoD Tithonus model which are selling for around the 6k mark. The rivet counters among you will spot the special hard top, front roll cage, Wolf door mirrors etc. Now they could all just be add on bits, but if its a genuine Tithonus, then the seller may not realise what he has, its about 3k cheaper than normal.

I do believe you're right. It would make an excellent project, quite tempted!

Hmmmm. Something doesn't look right with that cage. Isn't the uprights supposed to go through the wing top and bolt onto chassis?

That looks like it might be a dummy / style-bar?

No, that's correct, it just looks odd in that colour.

It doesn't appear correct to me. The cage seems to bolt on to some flimsy looking brackets on top of the wings..

I stand corrected. It looks correct.

Can't see how that's going to stand up to a rollover then? If that's just bolted to the wing tops (as it looks) it's totally worthless...

There's a bracket under the wing.

It's also bolted to the steel bulkhead under the windscreen bolts and under the door hinges.
