Lahore
A bomb has gone off in a Lahore park close to a children's play area apparently killing 60 people mainly women and children with many injured.

There is a world map going around which shows how the Western world views/comments on events around the world which is very western/Europe centred.

To myself an innocent child killed wantonly in Lahore is just as precious as an innocent child killed in Brussels, Paris or London.

My thoughts go out to the innocent families caught up in the Lahore bombing as much as those killed in the Brussels bombing.

I agree with you Brendan but unfortunately not even the locals agree with you - amputating limbs to improve revenue from begging.

Caterham, criminal gangs exist around the world. I have seen horribly deformed beggars on the Howrah bridge in Calcutta, some I am surmising the deformities deliberately inflicted by criminal gangs. Yes I have seen the deformities still occurring in Vietnam from agent orange

How do you equate a child tortured/deformed for financial gain to the torture inflicted on Baby P in the UK?

Personally I would prefer to remember the poor Indian woman who would always give a few paisa to blind people. Blinded by cataracts which could be cured by an operation costing a few pounds.

Children in particular are innocent victims and should be protected whenever possible be it the innocent victim of sadistic adults in the UK, a bomb victim in Europe, a victim of criminal gangs in the Indian sub continent, or a napalm victim in Vietnam.

All the above mentioned are equally bad but unfortunately while locals behave like this you've got something of an up hill struggle.
