Refurbing Deep Dish - Black or Anthracite on Bonatti Grey?

Time to change my trusty but 10 year old BFG MTs so I'm going to get the wheels Refurbed while I'm at it.

Will be getting BFG AT KOs 265/75 and wheels are Compomotive XS - Deep Dish with extra offset, on 30mm spacers. Love the wheels and stance but bored of silver. Black is the obvious choice (too obvious?) so thinking anthracite perhaps, but might be a bit odd with two similar greys (though it looked on on Romb Raiders)

Anyone got any pics of grey on grey - Boosts are similar enough to get the effect?

With the Bonatti grey bodywork, black looks great. Gloss black would be my preference, as mk1c has done. There are always other black details on a Defender that it ties in with, and gloss cleans up nicely. Thumbs Up 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

Indeed they do - black does seem like the safe option. A bit of Photoshopping seems on the cards Fully Restored 89 110 CSW V8

Nice job Ray.

Did you do the work yourself? If so, what prep did you do, as they've come out like new.

Did you use etch primer?

I quite like the 'original' alloy silver colour on my boosts, but they could do with a facelift for 2016. If it's easy enough to do, and you can successfully mask the tyre therefore making the job DIYable then I may just practice on my spare Thumbs Up

Has anyone retained the original silver and done the job themselves?
