Had a demo 3.2 the other day and was really impressed with it. Will be buying one to replace the Td5 one day. We use them on our opencasts with good results. As mentioned 6 month waiting lists are the norm.

The stock situation is much better now with plenty in stock and loads in pipeline due in during April/May. If you are not fussy about the colour there are still a few unregistered vehicles from the old model to clear that are quite a good deal if you can find one. Drive a 2.2 Ranger D/C for work.
Also run Isuzu D-Max for some operatives. Personally glad I have a Ranger - though it is definately not my first choice of vehicle ! Visibility turning left is a bit of a pain due to sat low in bodyshell and low angle of A pillar. 4WD system - pants to use |

Thanks chaps. I had one out on test a couple of years or so ago and for what they are was quite impressed. My neighbour seems happy with the ex demo one he just bought and someone else I know is keen enough to put in an order for a Wildtrack recently.
I'm thinking about a 3.2 but haven't tried the new one yet so am curious to hear real world experiences. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Happyold, I did a comparison in 2011' tested all double cabs. The Ranger was not too bad then in 3.2 guise. We were running 3.0 4 pot hi lux's at the time. The VW Amorok came out tops for us, load space and weight loadings. Have not tested the current model Ranger, but looks good on paper. Cheers Simon

The new Ranger is VERY popular in Aussie.
So popular in fact, that it knocked off the Hi-Lux in sales last month. Lots of varieties in Aus, & the 3.2 engine is popular. However I know a few who have the 2.2 engine, including my son in law who is provided with a 2.2L twin cab as his work car,....He's pretty happy with it. Pickles. |
