Dual Finish wheels - potential corrosion and warranty.
Being a polished aluminium wheel with just a clear-coat to protect it from oxidisation, I'm wondering how they stand up over time? Also, are they something which JLR replace under warranty?

Are dual finish diamond cut??If they are they are extremely vulnerable to damage and corrosion. Also doubt they are covered by LR's corrosion warranty either, even removing/replacing the center caps can damage the lacquer).Best thing you can do is get real anal about keeping them clean, wash them regularly especially during the winter (at least once a week) and (er,quickly) apply a quick detailer every few weeks.Or buy a dedicated wheel "wax" and apply every few months Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Yes they are diamond cut. I've had similar wheels replaced from other manufacturers when they've shown signs of corrosion within the initial warranty period. Mine are obviously new and currently perfect but I know the potential for problems is high.

Wondering how others have got on with these wheels?

I have just looked on Ebay - there are numerous makes/types of 'wheel wax' including aerosol, pump spray and hand applied 'hard' wax, from £5-20+. Can anyone recommend a product? I would prefer to use a product that might take some time to apply but be good for a month or two, rather than have to re-apply every week (if such a product exists?).

I've used Poorboy's Wheel Sealant.

Not actually sure how good any of these products are at preventing corrosion. They provide a barrier which makes cleaning easier. The Poorboy's product does have a longer life.

Google "Detailing world".You will find a mine of information on paintwork care.Like I say, diamond cut is pretty much ALMOST impossible to care for. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Another vote for Poorboy's Wheel Sealant. I tend to apply two or three coats, very easy to apply and also easy peasy to buff off. Still doesn't stop the wife kerbing it though! Defender 90XS SW
