Not Warn but Fairey (later Superwinch).
Excellent kit, I use the same myself. They will take a 255/85 tyre but nothing wider which is probably why they have rather fallen from favour. GLWTS! |

I would say 255 tyre is the limit too!
Like you say, very robust bits of kit. If they don't sell, I will stash them away for another few years 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Those are cool! Would be great for a Series fitted with a Capstan. Might be worth dropping a line to Rob Maude at LR Optional Equipment, he may be interested? https://www.facebook.com/lroptionalequipment/ Pete

That's what I had them for, my 80" has a capstan.
But got fed up lugging them around at shows! Good idea about contacting Maudie.. 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

The photos didn't all load when I looked yesterday and clearly my Fairey comment is totally wrong, you can't argue with a Warn label!
Which is actually interesting since I'm sure the first pair I bought (new, from Westover Land-Rover in 1987) were FW Engineering branded on the packaging. Perhaps they were dual-sourced. Every day a schoolday as they say. |

Sound a bargain if prices last year are anything to go by:

That makes some interesting reading.
Think they will go back in the shed for a few more years! 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Certainly if I were you I'd hang on to them. They are hard to find so replacing them would be difficult and expensive.

I would like to purchase your ground anchors if you still have them. I would like to buy a set and offer reproductions to folks who want them. I'll arrange shipping please let me know.
Thanks, David Porter |

There might be a market for repros which were a bit wider so that a 265 or even 285 section tyre would fit. Tyres have become wider since the 'fifties and the fact that a 255 is a squeeze in these limits their appeal. |

I figured they were long gone just thought I would try. I agree these would be nice in a wider size. I have a 1988 D130 with a Fairey PTO winch. It would be nice to anchor in on the top of a hill and winch up those unable to make the climb!
