I have picked up a couple of 'small map pockets' from Brendan.
I would like to put these on the door panels. As I don't plan to put anything substantial in them - just say phone and wallet - would self tapping screws be OK? What size/length? If not self tapping screws, I suppose I would need to remove the door cards to use other fixings. Is this much of a palaver? Any fixings you can recommend? Any threads you can direct me to regarding door card removal? Thanks! |

I guess the key is to know what is behind the panel and where. I'll be interested to see what you end up doing.

I've seen some nice set ups with a mesh pocket mounted on either side of the cubby.
Might be preferable to ruining a set of door cards? |

I would think that self-tappers depending on length might scratch the door glass when wound up and down. Try putting some sticky Velcro fasteners top and bottom if the weight is not going to be an issue. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Screws short enough to go through the plastic and little more should be fine. There's a bit of space there taken up by a sheet of foam material, and the window mechanism is quite a bit back from there.

What age is your wagon as the card might not handle the weight or screws!! For the hassle of 10 mins I would whip the door card off mark where you plan to have the pockets, Drill SMALL holes then get a couple strips of 1mm steel and spire nuts, Have a strip going across the holes and then fit spire nuts and self tappers, Put a layer of foam or lots of tape over the top to prevent any rattles and you should be good.

Quite agree There's actually very little room on the door card once the door is closed as the seat box covers a fair chunk. Don't screw them to the dash either !   |

It took me ages find these pics!
I used to put them in all mine, my current 110 hasn't, only because I bought the wrong size. So here's 3 of my old 90's....not the best pics, but give you some idea. 
The most handy place to put them is in the roof, for sunglasses and strangely... Maps! I put my GOPro down and it was still taking pics.

Greeni - Thanks for the pics.
Did you use self tappers to fix to the doors or did you take out the door cards and use nuts and bolts etc? |

Stainless self tappers, chunky ones, I had to drill the holes bigger slightly in the plastic clips.
