I have recently got hold of a TVR personal fittipaldi steering wheel and need to buy a boss to fit it to my TD5. While searching eBay i have come across this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SNAP-OFF-STEERIN...SwBLlVcaeW Has anyone any experience of these? just thinking that for an extra £40 over the price of a standard boss it will give a bit more security ( every little helps!) Thats what i was thinking. Don't want it coming off on the way to work . May contact FCX and see if they do anything similar. Don't mind paying extra for something that is tried and tested 2000 90 TD5,galv chassis, d2 axles ,Bas remap , alisport intercooler , d2 transfer box , side windows-more to come-much more!! *GONE*

These came up in discussion on here a while back. I'm sure somebody had one, but no idea where to get them from!

That seems a ridiculously cheap price for a Boss and genuine Snap off and a real bargain. The snap of system is in my opinion the best on the market, see more detail here
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic33163.html?highlight=snap http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic32830.html?highlight=snap I have to say if I am reading the eBay advert right and you get the boss and snap off that is a real deal. Hello marsie
Another... for the Snap Off, well made and with tapered location pins you get essentially no unwanted movement between the steering wheel and the boss / steering column. I have had mine for 3 months and 4K miles with no issues, and it would now feel 'wrong' to leave the steering wheel attached. Give Matt a call at FCX and see if it will fit (what's left of) the TVR http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40482.html?highlight=snap Click image to enlarge SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html Last edited by X4SKP on 11th Mar 2016 7:52pm. Had another look at that eBay advert and the seller is a little bit dubious, in his first picture he shows a genuine ‘Snap off’ system which leads you to believe that this is what he is selling, even calling the system he is marketing ‘Snap Off’ which is a trade mark. Then a lot lower down the page he shows a completely different blurred photo of a cheap quick release system and if this is what he is selling, it is no bargain at all, my advice avoid this seller at all cost.
FCX sells the genuine Snap off item. You will of course need a slim line boss to match your column in order to fit the Snap Off just make sure you count the spines right. FCX sells a slim line boss or try Bolt on Bits slim line boss. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Another vote for Snap Off, plus the thin leather stitched FCX boss is quality. Highly recommended combo!!

After reading this thread I think I might have to do away with my cheapo boss, after all it'd be a little inconvenient if the wheel were to come off whilst driving. Does anyone know if group buy is an option for the snap off kit?

If someone would like to organise a Group Buy we could offer a discounted price dependant on quantities
Currently £125.00 http://www.fcx.co.uk/#!security/ccyk |

I'd be in for a group buy - I've been meaning to get one for some time.

I'd maybe be up for one depending on the price. I intend to go down the removable wheel route, but buying the wheel, boss and snap off in the one go is a bit much for me just now. Maybe I should keep my eye out for more GB's and I'll get everything I need
