Click image to enlarge My new Defender 110 looked a bit stark in all white. So got Roger Young Land Rover to repaint the grills gloss black, apply black Defender lettering. Whilst they were at it they also painted the crossmember and tower drop plate. It looks so much smarter! That is the same thing I had to do as LR removed the black pack when I ordered mine. As others said it was cheaper to work with the dealer to sort it than buying the paintwork at the factory....albeit I did my black with the metallic black to match the factory black contrast roof. I wasn't brave enough to do the centre of the dash though I didn't fancy the dealer taking the dash to bits!

I'd like to get my Corris grey 90 sprayed like that too, plus the wing mirrors. How much should I expect to pay for a decent job? Got quoted £965 yesterday in SE London. Not impressed! 😡

To do the black pack job properly and to ensure that it does not flake off after five minutes I think is a bigger job than you think. Mine cost me the best part of a grand but it did include the crossmember being painted as well. It was a cracking job and probably better than the factory finish. It does make a huge difference as to how the Landie looks, especially when I bought it all white. '65' plate Defender XS 110 Station Wagon

I had the black additions put on my Stornaway and it came up pretty good. They actually removed the roof to do a proper job, painted the KBX, the wheel guards, cross-member. Roof cost around £400 including the tig welding of the holes left by the standard work light, which I had closed over, when the scene lights were put in. That looks super-classy! 👏👏👏 I'm hoping to achieve something similar. I'm just gonna have to spend a bit of time checking out bodyshops..... Metallic black looks if it's not done properly, but I don't want to get battered £££-wise either. I'll be over the moon if mine comes out as good as yours!
