300TDI FIP Adjustment - nylon washer?
Just tuning up the Fuel Injection Pump on my engine and have a query.....

I've read some reports/tuning guides which mention removing the nylon washer which sits over the so called Boost Pin. Other guides say to trim it down "a bit". Other guides do not mention anything other than "don't lose it".

Can someone clear up the nylon washer anomaly please?

The washer appears to set the maximum fuel position of the Boost Pin - like an "end stop" for max turbo boost.

Choices appear to be;
Should I refit as normal?
Should I trim it down a specific amount?
Should I throw it away?

As always, comments and suggestions very much appreciated. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

try it with it out compared to with it in against performance EGT etc

if too much black under full boost or too high an EGT then refit it.

my tgvs still have them in there, you can tweak them to run fine with them fitted. Cheers
