Range Rover Evoque loan car
My defender 110 2.2 required a bit of paintwork doing under the warranty, Land rover lent me a brand new Range Rover Evoque sd4 for the 3 days the defender was at the paint shop.
Wow, what a lovely car, 9 speed auto so smooth and quiet, one little push of the accelerator and you are off like a rocket. I did not like the look of them when they first came out but now after getting used to the looks and driving one they really are great.
However, driving home in the noisy, cumbersome, relatively slow defender I appreciated the defender even more. I can not put my finger on it but I don't ever want to be without one.

I was given a brand new Freelander 2 (which dates it Laughing) while my 110 was in having its clutch rebuilt and I really enjoyed it. But it didn't make me want a Freelander, it made me want a Discovery.

Then I looked at how much they are and decided to save for a 130 instead Big Cry Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

I also got an Evocque for my recent loan car. Only had a couple of hundred km on the clock. Very nice car. Nice marketing move as my wife has now decided she wants one for her next car.

My 110 2.4 is in for a spot of TLC, the paintwork around the windscreen has started to bubble in several places, I too have an Evoque as a courtesy car, which is nearly brand new. I cannot say I dislike it, though after driving the 110 it feels like an F1 car, though I do agree with rover, when I get back in the 110 I appreciate it more for what it is. Another point driving the Evoque is all the onboard gadgetry I now can see the outside temperature Shocked

MrsK has owned one for 3.5 years. Now out of warranty.

Really good car. It does have "issues" such as low MPG, a wee bit noisy at 70mph,

The XC70 is a wee bit better on fuel, slightly quicker and bit quieter at speed. However the Evoque looks a LOT better, and probably handles better - it would be quicker on a bumpy bendy back road I think. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Try and grab a V8 next time Smile

By all accounts the SVR goes like the proverbial off the spade.

Not the quickest but boy did I get a shock when I picked up my TDV8 FF having just stepped out of a 300Tdi 110 with a 1.2 box on it. But I do enjoy driving the 110.

Although given the frosts this weekend I wish I'd finished the gearbox oil change last weekend. Heated windscreens, steering wheel, mirrors and seats would be welcome. Compared to defrosting the inside as well... Ed
