Jimbob - you should start a separate thread on that, I couldn't disagree with you more.

Push iron's have changed little, the biggest improvement was the carbon frame, which was available from the 70's.Electric gear changes must save 1000th of a second over manual on a 1hr race.Race bikes are subject to maximum weight restrictions also, still a lot accounts for the performance of the athletes. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

You want to watch super competitive motorsport, watch supermoto,a mix of fast tarmac and MX ramps.Totally typical amatur conflict sport including a bit of argy bargy.Never mind carbon fibre enclosed driver cockpit... Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Definitely the latter - we could have a good discussion Laughing

Not too sure on motorcycling being the best - it is good don't get me wrong, just maybe not best. A special mention should go to the TT guys - they win an award all on their own.

If it's live (as in being there) motorsport - the very, very best I have ever seen is top fuel dragsters, especially the September event at Santa Pod where the light fades a little and the flames coming out of the exhausts are that much clearer. For shock and awe it gives a full firepower demo at Warminster a good run for it's money.
