Are these not the same wheels that will be offered for the defender challenge by bowler? Are they using an adapter then? the description for the wheels mentions it’s used in the defender challenge. I’ve sent a couple emails to bowler but can’t get a response

Bowler now have wheels for the new Defender listed on their website.

My truck has joined the Bowler wheel brigade.

Running on 265/75/16 General Grabber AT2 tyres

I appreciate those who have previously shared photo's of their Bowler wheels. It certainly helped me with the decision making process.

Jono, what size tyre are you running?

285/75/16s - so that’s about 32.5 inch. They have 20mm spacers too.

Hi Jono, are you sure they are 20mm? Seems 20mm is not as common as 30mm, so just wanted to check before I ordered a set, as I'm going for the same setup as you have for the Wife's 90.

Hi John P

I’ll try and measure them tomorrow but they look about 20mm to me. Sure you could use 30mm and I’m pretty sure you would not have any MOT problems, as mine are only very slightly outside the standard arches. Turning circle would be slightly better too.

30mm spacers will be fine. It’s a great wheel/tyre combo IMO.

Just wanted to pay a small tribute to this long thread that inspired me to spend a considerable amount of money on a set of new 16” gloss black Bowler wheels about 6 months ago.

I must certainly say that I have not seen any other Defender with them so far anywhere in France, and I’ve been around lately Whistle
What really makes it for me is that they look at home everywhere, on and off road. They look smart in the city when clean and shinny with very fine lines, and fit for purpose when overlanding with perfect to me ET10 offset (no spacer) and higher load rating.
Changing from 18” Lucari wheels and being back to 16” was also a good move retrospectively. 16” is definitely more versatile, off-road when needing to lower tyre pressure and less prone to chipping from rocks, on road irregularities I find 16” sensibly more confortable as more rubber on the wheels.

All in all very happy
/Mat
