Replacing hardtop waist/tub seal - any tips?
Got the roof up and old seals out plus all the white sealant gunk put over the top as they were leaking....

The new seals have an adhesive strip to the top - do I need to clear out every last bit of the old seal so the new one will adhere to clean metal, or will scraping off 95% of it be ok? Ie is it ok to leave a bit of the old seal 'residue' in the channel as per pic below?

Buy any glue remover (B&Q),or isopropyl alcohol for glue residue, might aswell do a proper job while the roof is off.If your desperate you can buy it in Maplins or quite a bit cheaper off the webz. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.
