Leaking fuel pressure regulator (2006)
Hi Folks,

Finally traced a fuel leak to the back of my Fuel pressure regulator unit and was wondering if anyone had any issues with installing the cheaper non OEM units at all?

I have decided to replace the unit and overhaul the original at some future time for a spare - any thoughts or words of wisdom?

You can get seal kits pretty cheap, a few on here have had success with them. Ray

I went straight to fitting a new one and although the 3rd lower bolt is a PITA to get to, its not too bad. I elected to also change the front pipe as well, the nut on that is a real pig to get to (even with one of those crows feet sockets). So unless the front pipe joint is leaking, i'd leave that bit alone and just re use the old pipe.

Also, don't loose the little filter that can come out when you renew the o ring in the middle.

cheers folks for the responses, think I will obtain a replacement OEM unit and leave the pipe in place as that is not leaking..

Much experience ..

DO NOT fit an after market !!! you will do it again a year later ,,genuine is circa £140 and you 1st one lasted 10 years ...

Took a punt on one of the £40 ones off ebay:

Had about 4000miles out of it so far, and seems to be holding up...

I guess if it fails I'll see it as a practice, and fit a genuine one!

Genuine FPR now fitted just need to repair the wires to the temperature sensor plug as I noticed they had become bared!!
Then bleed and test!!

hands will take longer to repair....
