I'm currently doing the rounds obtaining quotes for a service and thought it a good time to mention that I'd like an intermittent clunk that has started to occur when taking up the drive investigated under warranty. Nothing new there as I've had various clunks and bangs occur on previous Defenders but I'm slightly surprised that one outfit has come back saying that "the 2.2 engine does have a characteristic knock/clunk when taking up drive". Steve.

I haven't investigated it myself - yet - but as we know there could be a number of causes and this sound isn't indicative of worn shock bushes. The vehicle is under warranty and has about 10,000 on the clock so I'm not unduly concerned, what does niggle is the fact that they know I'm not a clueless novice owner Steve.

Lazy answer from a disinterested service advisor?
You'd think they would be incentivised to get the vehicle in for a check and see if they can generate any work for themselves, legitimately of course. |

You would have thought so, his remark is BS and may have have cost him my business. Steve.
