Hello everyone, please tell how bad is my idea or perhaps some alternative solution.
I want to have some circuits that will only turn ON after the car has started and everything is good to go. The circuits would be: AC compressor, additional battery charging relay, DRL, etc. I was looking for a timer that could connect this extra circuits 10 to 20 seconds after the car has started, but they are difficult to find around here. There's an 'engine running' signal available in the ipac (used inter alia in the heated windscreen circuit), alternatively you may be able to use the alternator output (which is in effect what a VSR does).
Edit - sorry, just noticed you have a TD5 not a Puma, so you probably don't have the Engine Running signal. |

The engine running signal from the Puma instrument pack is only really a software emulated version of the oil pressure warning lamp wire on pre-Puma Defenders.
Exactly he same heated front screen timer is used on Pumas and Td5s, the Td5 uses oil pressure wire to "enable" the timer, the Puma uses the engine running signal. The oil pressure warning lamp wire could be used in conjunction with a 10-20 second timer unit and a relay to achieve what's wanted 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |
