@ RCMike, you can raise the rear fixing point by a couple of inches, my tapered seat rails go from nowt to 2 " at the back. All that I did was to drill through the box parallel to the seat box. You need to extend the fixing points on the seat bases by 2" or so to match the LR seat fixing points anyway so I welded flat steel to extend them and then welded some flat at 90' to catch the holes I'd allready drilled in the box I had bolted to the seat base. That provided me with a simple but strong hinge.

I fitted these. There is enough gap under the seat to get a set of jump leads in for example but anything more involved its 4 bolts to undo them and lift up.
