DO NOT PUT IT IN YOUR WINDSCREEN
DO NOT STICK ONE ON YOUR BONNET Use a bracket designed to mount your number plate when a winch is fitted. https://www.devon4x4.com/d44-number-plate-bracket.html http://www.firstfour.co.uk/item/2170378/st...racket-kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defen...1521300635 |

Made one for the disco out of a couple of scrap bits of steel, not the nicest but as with most temporary mods its lasted long enough to be a permanent one.

I riveted spring clips to the number plate, ideally I would use a backing plate or old near plate to provide extra strength to the plate. The clips were either 1in or 1.25in tool clips from Screwfix and cost around£4 for a pack of 10
I'll have a look and see if I still have the rest of the pack to check the size for you. HTH Cheers John 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon 1971 Bowler Tomcat 88 4.2 V8 Auto 2022 110 D250 XS Edition - Gone 2024 110 D250 X-Dynamic HSE |

Click image to enlarge Mine is up in the middle of the roofrack. Added bonus is that some car park ANPR cameras don't pick it up, and I have missed out on parking fines as a result... |

I fitted my winch and only realised that I had not refitted the number plate three MOTs and 50 000 miles later when I was repainting the motor!
If it was cracked I would have failed the MOT, but as it was not there they just did not 'see' it, if you get my drift. 80" 1948 Lightweight V8 Bowler Tomcat 130 Station wagon 90 300tdi (Santana PS10 pick up) Range Rover L322 (Ful fat) |
