is there a test on the mot for a cat or is it just a visual?

Visual only, there's a very good chance they won't notice if they're not Defender specialists.

You could always modify your decat pipe if you have the means?

my mot isn't due for a couple of months just thinking ahead,i have a dummy cat fitted so hopefully i'll have no problems
