A tale from many years ago. A friend of my father's was still a very new copper detailed to chauffeur HRH around the Badminton Horse Trials in a Land Rover. Unfortunately he'd never actually driven one before (this is long before the days of drivers being trained to avoid assassins by defensive driving). He was making a total hash of gear changing when the lady in the back wearing the headscarf tapped him on the shoulder, smiled and said 'perhaps I should do the driving'. Embarassed

I saw Charles yesterday in his Discovery and his chauffeurs etc.

Not joking either I assure you, one disco was a silvery bronze like colour and the other a nice dark green.
