parking sensors / reverse camera fitting?
I am having fun with the new 110 Adventure. However, reversing into a Waitrose parking space in tricky... Mr. Green
I'd like to have parking sensors or even a reversing camera fitted. Searches here have given good advice on the actual devices. However, not being mechanically minded, is there a recommend company who would supply and fit this in the Surrey / Sussex area? Many thanks

In fact, at the Celebration Tour, the Defenders there had a neat reversing camera fitted with the screen on a large reversing mirror. So no additional screen needed. Anyone know who can supply and fit this? Thanks

That's the one the tour Defenders have.

Thanks - that's the one. Wow, £490! I will call them on Monday to ask if they fit.
Has anyone fitted just sensors? Cheers

TBH just give it a bit of time and you will soon get used to the vehicle. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

Once you get a bit of time in them, they are pretty easy to park! Just have to trust yourself and the square sides.

Not sure how useful parking sensors would be? I guess you could put them in/below the cross member?

If anything I'd go for a reversing camera, I think I'll consider one one day, mostly for reversing with/onto trailers. If you wanted to buy the kit I;d be happy to help you fit it!

As above,

The Defender is a box, the back is the back, you soon get used to it,

Overall its not actually a long car, I find its the lock of the steering which took me longer to get used to.

I would find a little rear camera handy for hooking up to the towbar.

If you have a towbar that's pretty good sensor anyway Smile

Thank you all for the advice. Wise words. The 110 is a little longer than the90 but in reality not that long compared to the X5! I will live with it until the summer as suggested. I hadn't thought of the 'wait for the crunch' method... 😳 Cheers

I will go against the trend: Its not a must have, but a plenty useful tool. I have had them in several of my vehicles and found them very useful in a number of situations beyond parking, such as backing up onto a trailer hitch, reversing with a short trailer prone to jack-knifing or spotting obstacles when reversing off-road.

I prefer the type with the screen built into the mirror, so I can switch views easily/quickly without having to look down to the centre console.

I'm currently having a reverse camera fitted to my 110, as the head lining is off for soundproofing.

Its a Gentex system.
The rear housing for the camera is be-spoke fabricated item that's modelled on the G-Wagon unit.
