Volvo C303 Portal Axles with 5.99 ratio Diffs and vacuum operated lockers. "Designed and built by a well known English gentleman in the winch challenge scene who will only accept perfection or better." - anyone know who that could be? |

Looks like a third winch for self righting? Well thought out and executed build, very impressed.

Very nice but probably too nice to use for its intended purpose? Working towards Carry on camping!

I believe the Dutch were the first to use the mid mounted winch and it was used to allow traverse of seriously steep slopes, without rolling, not for recovery. Impressive to see them in use. 80" 1948 Lightweight V8 Bowler Tomcat 130 Station wagon 90 300tdi (Santana PS10 pick up) Range Rover L322 (Ful fat) |

OK, I bet its mega fun, has Defender doors, and steering box, and radiator, but come on chaps not really a Defender is it.
I built a Cobra replica once, used the wipers and heater from a scrap Spitfire, and used the old reg number. That wasn't really a Spitfire, as I was warned by the Boys in Blue when I got stopped once ![]() 1998 TD5 CSW |

Heavy and slow, would prefer to keep the rover axles and use Tibus hubs. But then mine would need to be suitable for road use too. 80" 1948 Lightweight V8 Bowler Tomcat 130 Station wagon 90 300tdi (Santana PS10 pick up) Range Rover L322 (Ful fat) |
